Instructions:

1. Preparing Saffron Milk:

2. Preparing the Rice:

  1. Wash and rinse the Basmati rice in cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes and then drain.

3. Frying the Dry Fruits:

  2. Add the sliced onions and fry until they turn golden brown.

  3. Add the saffron milk, sugar, green cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Add 2 cups of water, bring it to a boil, and then reduce the heat to low.
  5. Cover and let it simmer until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed. This should take about 15-20 minutes.

5. Final Assembly:

  1. Once the rice is cooked, fluff it gently with a fork.
  2. Garnish with the fried onions and dry fruits that were set aside.
