1. Activating the Yeast:

  2. Mix the ingredients to form a dough. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until it doubles in size.

3. Shaping and Proofing:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Punch down the dough and transfer it to a greased baking tray.
  3. Using your fingers, press the dough to spread it out evenly in the tray.
  4. Cover the tray and let the dough rise for another 20-30 minutes.

4. Baking the Focaccia:

  1. After the second rise, make dimples in the dough using your fingers.
  2. Drizzle olive oil over the surface of the dough and spread it out evenly.
  3. Sprinkle chopped rosemary and coarse sea salt on top.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the focaccia is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  1. Cut the focaccia into squares or wedges and serve warm.
