Ingredients:

1 cup vermicelli

  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • A pinch of saffron threads
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 cup chopped mixed nuts (almonds, pistachios)

Method:

1. Preparing the Sweet Vermicelli:

  1. In a pan, heat ghee over medium heat. Add vermicelli and sauté until it turns golden brown.
  2. Dissolve saffron in a tablespoon of warm water and add it to the vermicelli.
  3. Add granulated sugar and stir well. Cook for a few minutes until the sugar caramelizes, giving the vermicelli a golden color.
  4. Add ground cardamom and chopped mixed nuts. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Remove from heat and set aside.

2. Serving:

  1. To serve, place a portion of the sweet vermicelli on a plate.
