  • 2 cups colocasia leaves (Alu)
  • 1 cup field beans (Wal)
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Method:

  1. Clean and finely chop the colocasia leaves. Boil the field beans until they are tender.
  2. In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add cumin seeds.
  3. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies.
  4. Stir in the tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and oil starts to separate.
  5. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add the chopped colocasia leaves and boiled field beans. Cook covered until the leaves are tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati or rice.
